So here’s my new Arcana OC! Her name is Ying-Hua, and she’s Ren’s cousin uvu She’s also a high priestess who travelled to Vesuvia after sensing a great evil, and she’s often referred to as ‘Lady Ying-Hua’ due to her position. A disciplined and serious woman, she’s devoted to her duty as a high priestess and values her personal space. Her imposing appearence usually makes people afraid to talk to her, which bothers her since it doesn’t make her feel very good about herself. She may appear cold and snobbish at first, but she also has a soft side and can be very friendly with the right people. As to her love interests, I kinda want to ship her with the Devil JDHSJHDJD but maybe Valerius or Nadia too :’) Also, I thought up a whole system for how the high priestess thing works in her homeland so here it goes:

Ying-Hua is from Iona, a faraway empire that’s known for its people’s strong connection to spirits. She’s also part of the Hou clan, a very respected family with a high rank. However, another thing that’s special about the empire is its peculiar system for choosing the next high priestess. High priestesses from Iona get their power thanks to a spirit that lives in their body and is passed down to women only, but this is a blessing and a curse at the same time. On one hand, the spirit grants the high priestess a much greater power to sense and vanish demons, but her body also becomes dependent on it; so if the spirit leaves her, she’ll die. Unfortunately, this isn’t something they can just avoid if they want to keep the power within their bloodline. Once a high priestess’ daughter turns 25, the spirit starts shifting towards her body and her mother dies within a few days. That’s why high priestesses from Iona usually wait a long time before having children. However, if she doesn’t have any daughters, the power is passed down to a younger sister or a promising priestess. Ying-Hua is 27, so she’s been a high priestess for around 2 years. Her mother, Xiwu, was the older sister of Ren’s father and aunt (the later one, Jinjin, has a magic shop in Vesuvia).
Also, I’m definitely drawing her and Valerius braiding each other’s hair sjdhsjdhsjd
