Description Last of the images being transferred over from my Crossover Crossfire account.

On the top left corner is Rico when he's wearing his Luchador Mask/Afro, and on the top right is how he looks with out said mask. These are the two designs I'm gonna be going with.

On the bottom are the scrapped designs. On the bottom left is Rico with a row of 5 dread locks going down the back of his head, and on the bottom right is another design in which he was Mexican (Or at least his world's equivalent of his world's version of Mexican)

When I showed off his designs in the past between his upper right and bottom left hair styles, people preferred his bottom left one. I myself decided against it later on because it made me think too much of a character who comes from Brazil. Rico is supposed to be more "Afro Mexican" (Or more specifically, African/Mexican mixed) and I felt the middle made me think of some Afro Mexicans I've personally met/come across who've had similar hair styles (Cept yano, minus the Blue)

As for his bottom right design; I REALLY liked it and I might re-use it for another character down the line. (Hell, I liked it so much I've even considered maybe redesigning Muta so he has it, though I decided against it since I feel his current design fits his more eccentric personality) and I even considered using it instead and making Rico a pure Mexican (Or again, his worlds equivalent of Mexican). Reason why this was a bit of contention for me was the fact that I was uncertain if his personality made him a negative stereotype.

Rico is very rowdy, aggressive, and kinda violent, so I worried he might come across as the typical "Angry Black Guy" stereotype. Not helping is the fact that canonically he's also a gang leader. However, given his setting and mannerisms (such as the fact that he uses spanish words/phrases in his speech opposed to words/phrases more associated with street talk/slang) I think that alone makes him far less of a stereotype...

Plus he's a WRESTLER. Yano, dudes who are known for being macho, trash talking, and beating each other up? Such a personality is more than appropriate and I felt that would help him balance out Muta's personality since I didn't just wanna make a total clone of Muta. (Especially since Muta and Rico are palette swaps of each other as it is)

Plus the gang he (and Muta) leads are dangerous juvenile delinquents he helped reform, unite, and train who now patrol the city fighting off mutants/monsters/bad guys to help keep people safe and take the city back from evil organizations. (He might just be a VS battles host, but I love giving my characters back stories to flesh them out) so they're less of a street gang and more like a group of youthful vigilantes.

And if people still complain... meh. In the end he's just a VS battles host who only exists to do commentary on fights between already existing fictional characters beating the crap out of each other. The fact that I even bothered to give him back story/lore is just based on my tenancy to over explain things combined with my desires of being a story teller. He was never meant to be anything insightful/deep or made to deliberately be offensive.
