Join us in an exciting tale with a gender-bent version of Phoenix. In this part of the Multi-verse, Jean Grey is male but possesses the same telepathic and telekinetic powers. And in a similar way, Jean was saved and filled with the immense power of Phoenix Force. However, sadly he later lost control and succumbed to the Phoenix Force and ended up destroying an entire world. Now Jean has suppressed most of the Phoenix Force power to avoid a repeated tragedy. Phoenix - Alien Moonbase (part 1)
Phoenix arrived on the moon, searching for a source of immense power he had sensed all the way back on Earth. It was more powerful than anything he had previously encountered anywhere in the Solar System. However the power source had disappeared during his transit.

So Jean activated a small portion of the Phoenix Force, so he could read cosmic energy in the area. There! It was weak and good ways off. So he started flying towards that area of the moon.

As he neared, the power source once again became steady and strong, possibly big enough to destroy an area big enough to fit the entire state of New York! Phoenix was puzzled. Nothing this powerful had ever manifested on the moon. So he approached cautiously.

Flying into a cave system, Phoenix was surprised to discover a sprawling base. Although some equipment seemed recognizable, most appeared to have been created by an alien technology. Surprisingly, there was no sign of life; it looked deserted. Endless banks of electrical (and computing?) system flashed in silent operation. Phoenix flew through a series of vast rooms that looked like laboratories the size of multiple stadiums, and he was awed at what he saw but perplexed as to its origin and purpose.

In the middle of one enormous room, a big equipment array was active with portions rotating and other parts pulsed ominously. Phoenix landed and approached it cautiously. Needing to analyze it better, Phoenix turned on his Phoenix Force. Crackling energy surrounded him, and he felt his cosmic senses expand. He sent a mild pulse towards the operating equipment and waited to understand its nature.

However, something must have taken his investigative action as an attack, because it retaliated! He was suddenly blasted with an energy blast that felt like thousands of lightning bolts! It knocked him down senseless. Pain flooded his body and mind, and he was left panting as he recovered. What had hit him? What could be so powerful to affect Phoenix like that?

What alien race created the immense base? And what is the purpose of the mysterious equipment? It’s attacked and hurt Phoenix once. Will it attack him again? And can he defend himself against something so advanced and powerful?
