This is superb, this is actually better than the show or comics, it also makes her more feminine.

her! A different take on Arcee than Spotlight... I really like both. This one is very sweet. Great job, as always!

I love the inking and the coloring. The shine is really beautiful and the pink gives it such a warm, soft glow.

Arcee: "This counts as posing nude, right?"
awesome picture. Arcee looks great.
Oh, btw: I recently started playing Arcee in an online Transformers RPG board. While it's set in G1, the current game year is 2025 so enough time has passed to justify using your IDWverse redesign; I just explained that she'd been upgraded. So ... thanks for the inspiration!
Oh, and what would you call IDW!Arceee's alt mode? I've been referring to it as a hovercraft; would that be accurate?

how can a robot pose nude? well maybe if i took off her armor covering and exposed the inner workings. so no, this doesn't count as nude.

I was thinking "nude" in the sense of "not wearing clothes". And ... she wasn't.

Hey Alex,
I was wondering if it would be okay to give this beauty the full photoshop treatment I've been wanting to color something of yours for a long time now and this wuld be a great oppertunity to not only show my love once more for ARCEE but also for an Artist I deeply respect and appreciate and admire.
please let me know if it's okay
This is a really great piece of art man
lol I just had a thought who would win out of this Arcee and the menacing one in the Spotlight Comic?
Arcee vs. Arcee a battle to the finish.

i would say no for this image since its on the colored paper. if it was just lineart then that might be ok, but since this is finished in my mind it needs nothing else. i might do another lineart version of arcee later, but this one i really don't want anyone to touch.

why would the world forget about her? she's the most popular of all the fembots in the tf universe.

You can count the number of fembots in the tf 'verse on like, one hand. XD

I noticed over the last several pics that your 'helmets have been a bit on the large size. But not oversized or anything but a bit larger than the norm. Not the entire head mind you, just the helmet. They are especially noticeable on Devestator and Grimlock. Is this just an artist preference thing?
π: 0 β©: 2
Koyote042 In reply to Koyote042 [2008-09-03 18:35:29 +0000 UTC]
You seem to come off feeling this was a negative critique or something, and it's not. I am beginning to think that you have issues with people who 'crit' your work. As for what is the 'norm', I am comparing it to a lot of your past works. The helmet on your Grimlock is noticeably larger than the previous Grimlock drawing. So it's not like I have pulled something out of thin air here. Did I say it was bad or anything? No I didn't. Nor did I imply it was. I was just simply curious about the artists' direction, nothing more nothing less.

markerguru In reply to Koyote042 [2008-09-02 22:20:10 +0000 UTC]
what is the norm??? is it what you decide or is it what i decide, or is it the cartoon, or the manga. there are many different ways to draw these bots. i draw them they way i feel makes them comfortable to me.
with arcee i made her head a bit larger so i could give her body a more slender female look. some i want to give mass to the character, especially if there larger then most of the other transformers, others i'm going on the japanese style guides because i enjoy them more them the american cartoon guides.
