Here is the cover to issue 3 of ROM vs Transformers: Shining Armor

This series allowed me to draw a lot of creepy imagery which I don't normally get to draw in the other Transformer books I've worked on. There has been the odd few horror style issues, but not a whole series that has that horror element worked into it. You never know who or what is a Dire Wraith and now our characters are on a planet that has begun to be infested by them.

I really liked the idea of of the planet being heated at night by the water which tapped into the geothermal energy of the planet. All the life on the planet developed to be use to colder then normal temperatures, but on a visual level I liked the idea of the water lighting up form the thermal vents that lined the bottom of all the lakes/rivers/oceans. It allowed for some interesting under lighting effects.

I'm starting these days to try different things with shadows and what I can actually do with the line art. In the past I kept a lot of the lines clean and allowed the colors to do a lot of the shadows and lighting. But these days I want to try and do that more in the line work, just for something different. I won't always do things like this, but it's something I want to try when I have the time.
