Omg! It looks like my beloved cat!! Btw, I love the light and the moment you've been able to catch..it seems so "thoughtful"!

I love how it's very focused on the eye, and how that clarity really enhances and contrasts the unfocused parts! I think the colors are also very down to earth in a pleasant, intelligent sort of way. I think this is a very good picture and the title was very aptly chosen!

Haha, I'm glad you like it. I saw that you wanted peoples' opinions and because it's a pic of a cat, you get a ton of "awwws!" and although I am generally just a lurker of kitten pics, I decided that you needed a little more than just another awwww-er. (sorry for the overly long reply

hmm.. try to watch a lot of good art and try to learn by that, get inspired! Download an editing program like photoshop or something to spice up your photos. Read about the rule of thirds.

google it, easier to read explanations there! It is elementary in means of composition, which is needed to make a good picture!

What do you mean "not the best shot"? It's a terrific shot! I love the limited depth of field, and the way the colours gently fade from the yellows and oranges of the highlights into greens and blues in the shadows.
It's also a mighty cute cat!

Glad to receive some detailed feedback like this!
By that I mean bad technically as a close-up photo. But then again, the limited DoF can be seen on as a artistic touch I suppose, thanks

And so he sat, thinking about the world. About the humans. About the ceiling fan causing insanity. About the mice in the walls that were unreachable. About the clouds, how they were fluffy just like his fur. About the front door, how it's closed so much of the time, and of the back door, too. If they are doors, ways to enter in, why are they closed so much? Can't I just go out for once? I want to be able to see the world, see the people outside of this house and in their house instead.
And so the Philosopher thought. For hours and hours. Time drifting away, he curled up upon the wooden floor, the afternoon sun pouring in through the windows. And it was there, still thinking about the world - about the humans, about the ceiling fan causing him to go crazy, about the mice in the walls that he could not catch, about the clouds, about the front door, and the back door, too - that the Philosopher took and yawn and fell into the world of dreams.
