I'm questioning if Mabel would call ford Grunkle as well, because that would make him a uncle as well. Would that mean that Ford would be the father of the father of the twins instead of being another uncle since they don't have any other siblings?

If you rewatch the "Tale of Two Stans" episode, you can see Stan and Ford's mom holding a baby when Stan gets kicked out. That baby becomes Dipper and Mable's grandpa

Do the math;
-Stan was 18 at the most when he was kicked out.
-It's been 40 years.
-He and Ford are now 58.
-Dipper and Mabel are 12.
-40 minus 12 is 28.
-28 divided by 2 is 14.
-If the baby was Shirmy, then he would've met a girl and had their dad, and their dad would've met a girl and have the twins, both around 14.
-if Stan and Ford's dad would kick Stan out for breaking a machine, then he would definitely kick Shirmy out for knocking a girl up at 14.
my theory is that Shirmy is older than Stan and Ford, and the baby was Dipper and Mabel's dad the parents were baby-sitting for some reason or another. Sure, he had kids at 40 or 41, but so what?
