Description
Just thought I'd post these again.3/4 life size Mick and Keith. Sculpted in J-mac classes clay (Oil base clay) Around 4 hours each.
They are con-caved on the backside kind of like a really thick mask.
I'll be molding and casting these early in the new year.
Probably in resin and perhaps a limited edition of bronze as well.

Classic caricatures. Β Exaggerated just enough to make them really distinctive, but still realistic. Β Really like the texture on the skin, and especially in the hair. Β I have a hard time getting hair to look "soft" with my sculptures. Fortunately, these two have pretty wild hair, but you've done a great job blocking it out.
(Good job with your photograph too! Β I've done a lot of "masks", and it's not always easy to get the lighting to be both clear, and dramatic. Β Nice!)

Really liking your work with bust work on people. Keith has to be my fav out of the two though.

Just..frickin'...amazing!! And somehow much prettier than the source material, which ironically, if gazed upon, will turn the viewer to stone.

I would have to be living on the dark side of the moon not to know who David Gilmore was.

So...
That said.
Any plans to maybe do a bust of him someday?
That would be one I [personally] would be more than just a little interested in.
PS - Love the reference. Β Nicely done.

These hardly look like caricatures, these men are just as ugly in person. And they smell just as bad. Decent music though.
