Kirsty, Rocking out During the British Army "Red Tunic" shoot.The British Army tunic was kindly lent to us for the shoot by, Paul Rogers, whose granddad served with the army in the early part of the 20th century, serving in both world wars. It’s complete with three medals, two for the first world war, and the distinctive medal on the far left of the tunic is, a circular silver medal with claw and ornate scroll swivel ribbon bar with ‘AFGHANISTAN NORTH WEST FRONTIER 1919’ clasp; the face with the crowned head and shoulders portrait of King George VI facing left in coronation robes, circumscribed ‘GEORGIUS V KAISAR-I-HIND’ (George V Emperor of India); the reverse with a view of Jamrud Fort and the entrance to the Khyber Pass, inscribed ‘INDIA’ on a plaque below with oak and laurel branches to either side; height 36.3mm (1.43 inches), diameter 18.03mm (0.71 inch); on replaced correct ribbon. The medal was instituted on 1 January 1909 for service in campaigns on India’s borders. The ‘Afghanistan North West Frontier 1919’ clasp was awarded for service in that area during the Third Afghan War from 6 May to 8 August 1919.
