Can you tell what this is?

These are the guardians of the past and present.

The white spirit, Tick, represents the past. His white coat represents the memories that fade away.

Tock, the black spirit, represents the future. Her black fur represents what we don't know yet.

Tick pushes backwards, into the past, and Tock pulls forward, into the future.

I chose jackals because to me, they seem to live on the edge of time, unchanging. Also, the Egyptian jackal god anubis was the god of Death. I feel that Death and Time are connected somehow; like maybe your life is a clock, tick-tocking 'til your death.

You wouldn't believe how many times I had to re-storyboard this. These are jackals, btw. Tick is a golden jackal, and Tock is a black-backed mutation.

This is both much better and much worse than my other entry. Better because it's colored (watercolors 4 evah) but worse because I haven't used these in forever. I'm happy with the result, though.

Thsi is my second entry in the contest. (other people are going twice, why not me?)

I think that mine are the most original, layout-wise.
