Description Another WIP…
What if Altair did find Adha, his lost love? Easy, fangirls (me included), this is just a thought!

Anyway, I wanted to make this sweet and with a touch of spiciness. Even Assassins have hearts!

I think you can find it on Youtube easily. The first time I saw images of it I was like "Wow, that sure is one ugly Ezio", until I realised it was his father!
I would definitely like to know more about Altair's early years, especially his relationship with Adha. I'd like to know why he became an Assassin, see more of the everyday life in Masyaf, you know... the ordinary stuff! But this game was such a hit that I'm sure Ubi would do it's best to keep the fans interested - and spending money! I mean, I just got the almost impossible to get Limited Edition Art Book for the first game just to see the concept design behind the characters and the places. And I got it overpriced, but still was willing to pay for it. So everything that's related to AC is a sure success - I hope they remember that and give us more!

i still need to find the time to watch those videos. i'll probably start tonight. lol! ezio can't be too ugly! he's the main char, the main char is always at least decent looking. his father can look as creepy as he pleases.
yea i mostly want to see why he joined and his early years as an Assassin.
oo! where'd u get the book at? and was it worth however much u spent?
i saw something about a graphic novel of AC and only saw a few pages but it looks awsm and idk if its even real. if i could find that i would die happily (not immediately, in 70 years or so lol). i read a lot of manga and comics so yea.
MORE IS ALWAYS BETTER! i mean, nintendo can do it, y not ubisoft? only ubi would have to expand the existing stories instead of remakes 100s of years apart (ie Zelda )

I got the book from one of the independent sellers at Amazon.co.uk: [link]
But I think at Amazon.com is cheaper. I just didn't want to go through all that trouble with customs when you order something from the US. It takes so long and it's so much work it seems like I'm ordering a bag full of explosives. I did it once and I'm not doing it again!
Yeah, there's a comic book called "Desmond". I have it as an app for the iPhone, but I think this is the printed version: [link]
It's really cool and you get to see more of the Subject 16 and his Assassin ancestor. Good stuff!

Silent-psycho10 In reply to MartaVasques [2010-05-31 18:05:25 +0000 UTC]

lol. i completely forgot about Amazon. i'm an ebay user. even with the annoyance of customs and that stuff, its hard to tell if u're getting a good deal and the real thing. my friend ordered black wii remotes from hong kong (we live in the US) and they ended up being cheap but they were knockoff brands and didn't function correctly. so beware!!!
ok kool! at least i know the name of it now. typing in "assassin's creed graphic novel" wasn't doing much good. man, if i ever get an iPod touch i'm getting that app! (that is if i don't get the book).
i watched Lineage and it was amazing! most of the characters were well portrayed except (in mu eyes) Ezio (sadly). i thought the kid that played him looked too girly. even tho he was supposed to be younger there, he didn't look right to me...

I felt the same about Ezio. The actor is too young and too pretty in a feminine way - doesn't remind me of Ezio at all! But I still loved watching the story with real people!
I went to see "Prince of Persia" last weekend and the film has so many references to Assassin's Creed they could perfectly make one of AC! If they did this and "Lineage", half the work is done!

Silent-psycho10 In reply to MartaVasques [2010-06-02 02:18:27 +0000 UTC]

yea, and his hair was everywhere!!! the only reason i knew it was Ezio was because of his clothes and when ppl said that he was Ezio.
is it good?! i've played the game and gamers have had mixed feelings about the movie. Well, Ubisoft made bother AC & PoP, and yea they are similar (and therefore both are awsm). Lineage is soooo good! if the ppl who make games make the movies for the games like Ubi did, then there would be some great movies out! i still can't believe that most of the set of Lineage was just greenscreen.

MartaVasques In reply to Silent-psycho10 [2010-06-02 12:55:56 +0000 UTC]

The movie is quite good. Of course we can't expect a complex plot or magnificent performances, but there are a few major actors in the cast and they kind of save the day. And visually it's outstanding! Beautiful sets and landscapes, wardrobe, soundtrack... That's all extremely good. And there are A lot of Assassin's Creed moments - including a "view point" and a jump similar to the leap of faith! So I wish the guys at Ubi would come up with a feature film of AC already!

Silent-psycho10 In reply to MartaVasques [2010-06-03 21:07:06 +0000 UTC]

kool! i must go see it soon! well i got 4 days left of school so i'll have time.
to me, the plot has to be decent and (by this day & age) the set has to look great. i hate the tv shows/films that its extremely obvious that the creatures/backgroung/stuff is computerized in. kinda like how in the first spiderman movie (love that movie, i'm not dissing it) it was obvious that the swinging spiderman was computerized because the colors just weren't right and he was too shiny looking.
if they made an AC movie they need Francisco Randez [link] to be Desmond! or even Altair (since they look the same)~!

MartaVasques In reply to Silent-psycho10 [2010-06-08 11:06:22 +0000 UTC]

Randez is sooo gorgeous! I usualy don't like models as actors, but since Ubi modeled Altair and Desmond after him and he's soooo hot, I'd make an exception!

yea, same here. gah i hope thy make something to explain why AltaΓ―r became an assassin!!!!! now i'm just repeating myself, sorry.
u said u have the app on ur ipod/iphone (can't remember) of Assassin's Creed 1.0 Desmond, right? do u speak French then? cuz thats all i can find it in is French; meanwhile i only speak English and the basics of Japanese.

Yeah, I speak French - although I'm a bit rusty now. But I think the printed version of "Desmond" is translated in English as well.
You speak Japanese? That's awesome! I always wanted to learn!

kool! hey, rusty is better than not knowing at all. i'll have to look harder for it then!
yea, i take a Japanese class in school. i'm going to Jap 3 (out of 3) next year. its easier than it sounds, but we learn the generic sentences like "hello, i am (name)." and whatnot. the most useful for a real life situation we learned was resturant dialogue and we didn't go too far into it because of finals. hopefully we'll pick it up next year.

I love this! The lines are simple, clean and the image is perfect! Beautiful

I'm a huge fan of AC, it's incredible, and I love that others on here seem to like it as much as I do. I'd attempt to draw Altair and Ezio myself except my drawing skills are... well, I tend to stick to anime characters, lol! Much easier to draw.

It's also nice to see a non-yaoi picture. DA is flooded with them right now and personally I don't see where it has come from- both Ezio and Altair are WAAAY too manly and they have their female lovers (as you have so awesomely depicted here)

Thank you for this, and I look forward to future drawings from you!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

MartaVasques In reply to Captain-Hanzy [2010-05-11 12:23:14 +0000 UTC]

Thank you so much!

Yep, there's a huge community of AC fans here - I'm obviously one of them.
As you can see, the characters are depicted in very different ways, so why not try an anime approach?

Well, I'm also not a big yaoi fan, especially when it comes to Assassins - I like mine to be, as you said, manly! But I have to recognise there are very, very talented artists drawing yaoi and their work is excellent. It's just not my cup of tea.

Thank you so much for the and the !

Btw, I see you are a History student. That, along with Art, should have been my picks. Instead, I decided that it would be better to be a translator...

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Captain-Hanzy In reply to MartaVasques [2010-05-11 20:20:42 +0000 UTC]

Lol, yeah, Greece, Rome and early Persian history are my subjects

What language do you translate??? I'm planning to learn some Japanese when I have finished my studies but I have no idea where to start with it- it's been years since I last had any kind of language lesson, and that was in German.

I'm surprised you are't an art student, considering how awesome your work is!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

MartaVasques In reply to Captain-Hanzy [2010-05-11 20:37:30 +0000 UTC]

Ok, I'll just die of envy right now! l devour everything Greek and Roman (The Iliad is one of my favourite books, for pete's sake ), and the AC games were perfect for my taste of Medieval History as well! You are so lucky for studying what you like!

I translate between Portuguese, English and French. I also speak a few words of Spanish, but those are my main languages. I'd love to learn Japanese, sounds amazing. Go for it!

I wanted to follow History or Art when I went to college, but artists and historians in my country starve happily to death. Now I know it doesn't matter. So yeah, never took an art class in my life. I'm planning to do so this summer.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Captain-Hanzy In reply to MartaVasques [2010-05-12 16:06:43 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, the Iliad is good, but have you ever read the Epic of Gilgamesh? You should, you'd find some interesting parallels between the two  I wrote my dissertation on them and I loved it so much

As for studying what I like... eh, I dunno. I like Greek history, and I love Persian too, but I don't like Rome that much. I like the early stuff, with the Gracci and the rise of Pompey and Caesar, but after that it doesn't hold my interest. Not sure why, lol. I originally wanted to study Egyptology, but it wouldn't lead to a real job unless I took on an Masters and PhD, both of which I know for a fact I could never afford to do I took ancient classical history instead- kinda wish I hadn't sometimes.

God, you must be so clever to be able to speak three languages! I could never do that, not unless I had a bout 50 years to do it in, lol! Before I even start with Japanese I'm going to get some tasters, see what is like and see if I understand what it's about before I pay hundreds of pounds for a course. I just love the sound of it, though- so pretty!

MartaVasques In reply to Captain-Hanzy [2010-05-12 16:29:31 +0000 UTC]

You mean the epic about the Sumerian king? I've read about it, but not the real thing. I must have a look!

I know, for me the Roman Empire story is over after Nero died. When an Empire begins to give in to religious interests and intrigues, it's usually the end of the game. Obviously, I was watching "Kingdom of Heaven" for the 40th time and that reinforced by belief that "God Wills It" is the most dangerous sentence in the History of Mankind. Together with "There's no coffee."

Lol, I'm not a genius! Languages are like music, actually. You just learn the sounds and then "sing it". It's a bit more complicated than that, but it's not that big of a deal. I am thinking of learning a new language too, perhaps Arabic. Japanese sounds great - it's very harsh and very melodic at the same time. Maybe you can find some online free courses before you make your decision!

Sorry for interupting your conversation, but I just want to mention that speaking Arabic would be very nice . It's so different than your other languages (I speak Danish, English and "un peu de Francais" myself ), so it would maybe be different, and not feel like you've tried it before. Though, I'm not sure.

Oh, and you would be able to talk with AltaΓ―r . Hehe.

I'm not much of a fan of Adha as a Character, but this drawing makes the two of them look like a great couple... sexy, even.

Maybe you should do one for Ezio/Rosa...? There is definetly a lack of not-yaoi-AC-Fanart here on deviantart.

I prefer to see Altair and Maria as well, but Adha is all curvy and girly... Fun to draw.
And, although I love the quality of some of the yaoi works here on DA, I prefer the canon couples.

Unfortunately, I'm not a big fan of Ezio. I find him amusing and reckless in a funny way, but Altair is my favourite.
Maybe I'll give Ezio a chance next time, but I'm now working on a little something featuring Maria and Altair...

Oh believe me, I'm MORE than AWARE of that stupid, twisted relationship with Maria. I say don't settle for anyone less than the ONE... In Altair's case, that was Adha. Maria was just a one night stand spawned by lust, not love. Perhaps later on down the road they actually fell in love and got married or something like that as Altair is recorded as having two sons (but then again, he could have had some daughters too, but his sons were noted because Altair trained them as assassins).

Even so, Adha was his true love as he was deeply hurt when he found her dead. makes me want to give him a hug, but that' probably not wise...
