Summer was the worst. The hot, humid air clung to his skin, making the clothes he preferred--those that covered every inch of skin apart from his hands and face--unbearable. At 14, he couldn’t even do a cooling charm on himself at home. Just as the heat clung to him, so did his father’s eyes.

Whenever Tobias was home, he fixated on Severus. He didn’t like for his son to be alone in his room, claiming he might be up to something untoward, and whenever they were together, Tobias found things about Severus to criticise.
