Description
Everyone's favorite undead gypsy fop, as I imagined him! ;D
I'd been dreading attempting to make a semirealistic portrait of this guy for ages, mainly because his face shape is already hard enough for me to draw in an anime style and I can never settle on a faceclaim to reference him off of. I'm actually really happy with how it turned out so far, just hoping I don't muck it up when I paint over it.
From his Wikia page:
Vermillion Hellsing - or simply "V" for those who refuse to humor his stupid name - is an Ofeilian gypsy bard whose deepest ambition seems to be to make himself Public Enemy #1. His main source of income is singing and dancing like he's on Broadway for strangers, and subsequently demanding payment despite it not being agreed upon in the first place…he’s as impoverished as you’d expect.
Besides being a street performer, he is a charismatic, fly-by-night criminal who is known to associate himself with other less-than-trustworthy figures. It’s unknown how he’s managed to elude the authorities for so long, but it may have to do with the fact that since he’s so notorious for telling completely inane stories of his exploits, it’s difficult to tell what’s an outright admission of guilt and what he could’ve just as easily made up for the novelty of having a bazillion rumors of infamy circling him. At this point he’s probably just collectively shrugged off by the city guard as being a relatively harmless attention whore…though it doesn’t stop protective parents from warning their daughters to stay away from him (and rightfully so).
The question presses, however - obviously classically trained in singing and fiddle and quite probably theatre, what in his life went so wrong that this talented artist now paces the streets an ill-reputed vagrant?
He appears in a short story I published on Tumblr if you would like to take a gander into my world of fantasy, debauchery, and general Victorian fanaticism. Feedback always makes my day
