After what happened in the lego movie 2, emmet still misses his future clone rex dangervest the mature emmet although rex was a bad emmet the real emmet wanted to tell him that being bad is not the answer and he knew that rex is not in physical form but in form of an emotion that lives in the head of emmet brickowski and emmet had the idea of using an invention that dr fox from unikingdom had and was an emotion extractor after investigating very deep in emmet's mind they finally found it and took it out of the emmet's head to the real world and finally emmet is reunited with his manly and rude form of himself but emmet tells him with one condition that he not attack the population of the systar system who now live in syspocalypstar and that these people are not bad but good and rex changed his mind and will no longer attack those people and will use his powers of master demolisher for good and not for evil and max the son of emmet knows him and he thinks he is like his uncle or his stepfather but he is actually his father but from the future
