All that could be heard from the sounds that night were crying. Sobs that sounded to be coming from something emotionally distraught—hurt, broken. Anybody foolish enough would go out on some nights to investigate the noise, and go missing the night of with nothing but their clothes left behind. It was a phenomenon known by many as the real life equivalent to the boy who cried wolf, and yet most, if not all of us in this god forsaken town, certainty knew it wasn’t a wolf causing these mass disappearances.
