This particular mask is listed over on etsy here - [link]A Day of the Dead (also known as Dia de los Muertos) mask! I've always found them to be so beautiful. They are traditionally made from paper maché, but I thought I'd try my hand at a leather version which will combine the beautiful painting and design of the traditional masks, but with the durability that only leather can give.
This beautiful mask is truly wearable art. It would be perfect for Halloween, a masquerade dance, and, of course, Day of the Dead celebrations. This mask is light weight and comfortable to wear, but would look wonderful as a piece hung on a wall.
As an experiment, I tried a black mask base with all the details in white. It's all been freehanded to look lacy and delicate.

Nice, quality, smooth leather painted with acrylic and it's ready to go! This mask is made from one piece of 7 oz vegetable tanned leather. There is an elastic chord that is easy to tie off for quick adjustments. One size fits adults. I'd be happy to spray the mask with a sealant upon request. I have a matte or high-gloss version to choose from. Please leave a note upon ordering if you'd like it sealed.
