I made an account only for the reason that I saw this, cried for five minutes, and then decided I had to make some kind of story out of it or else I'd be incomplete. I'm sorry.

''Look over there!'' Anti pointed into the distance, grabbing Dark's attention back to the soaring mountains and soft wilderness that covered their home. The air was filled with the familiar sounds of the wilderness, easily fitting the lush green environment they were so used to. But now they were watching from a bird's eye view- And it was better than ever.
''Don't you see it?'' Anti interrupted Dark's thoughts.
''See what?'' Dark asked. Anti nudged Dark and shot his finger out to the sky. Dark followed his gaze and caught sight of a stray bird flying from it's colony toward the clouds. It looked graceful and independent, so free and beautiful.
''It's wings look just like yours!'' Anti said excitedly, leaning back on the branch to admire Dark's wings. Dark kept sight of the bird, now noticing how the tip's of it's wings were a pale pink, much like his. He laughed at the thought, watching as the bird elegantly glided through the sky before it flicked it's long, string like tail and disappeared into the clouds and out of view.
''Aww, where'd it go?'' Anti asked, taking his attention from Dark's wings.
''It left into the clouds,'' Dark replied cheerfully, a small happiness for the bird gleaming. ''One day we'll be able to fly like that. Then we can disappear into the clouds, too.''
''I want to fly now!'' said Anti angrily, flapping his wings and kicking his legs.
''My dad said I have to wait until I'm older,'' said Dark disappointingly. ''But it'll be fun when- Anti!'' Anti stood up on the branch and looked to the sky, flapping his fragile wings and taking a step from the branch.


''You remember that one time you fell off because you wanted to fly?'' Dark brought up. Anti ran a hand through his hair, laughing and remembering how dumb he was back then.
''Birds can do a lot for you,'' he joked, holding out one hand and letting a firefly soar into his palm. Their bodies were invisible through the soft yellow glow that surrounded them, and Anti loved it. At these times of night, when the sun had just disappeared over the restless mountains of their home and the whole world seemed to be asleep, these small, beautiful creatures would show themselves and provide small wisps of light in the soft, blue sky.
''They're amazing, aren't they?'' Dark admired, bringing up one of his hands to revolve around the gleaming firefly, which gladly accepted their affection. ''We must be so big to them.''
''I told you it would be a good idea to come here at night,'' said Anti. ''The last time we were here was ages ago...''
''Thanks for bringing me out here, Anti,'' Dark said, resting his hands against the branch as the firefly said it's goodbye and left them to their peace. ''I needed it.''
''We hardly get to come here anymore,'' Anti said. ''The best part is that it's our spot. It's somewhere only we know.'' Dark nodded. They took a moment to stare out into the wilderness, the atmosphere betting noticeably darker and darker. Soon they were surrounded by what seemed like hundreds of fireflies. 
''I feel like I own the world,'' Dark said. ''I could sit here until the end of time.''


''We need to do this more often.'' Dark let out a sigh and tilted his head, taking in every piece of what this beautiful world had to offer. He let his wings drift comfortably across the branch, taking a glance at Anti. Anti was looking out into the distance too, but he didn't seem to take any notice towards Dark whatsoever. He seemed distracted. Dark nudged Anti's wing with his wing and caught Anti's glance. ''Hey,'' Dark said, wearing a concerned expression.
''Dark...'' Anti said softly. ''Do you hate me?'' What? Why would he think that? Dark put an arm around Anti's shoulders, drawing in closer and giving Anti his full attention.
''Why would you say that?'' he asked, sudden sadness piercing through him.
''It's just...'' Anti shrugged away Dark's arm from his shoulders. ''What you said at training earlier... Was it true?'' Guilt flashed through Dark's eyes. The jealousy he had felt against Anti's higher score. How he had expected to be the one protecting Anti until suddenly Anti took the stage instead of him. No, Dark could never hate Anti. He would give anything to keep him safe, in fact, anything to keep him out of harm's way.
''You realize that I love you, right?'' Dark said. ''You're my brother. I'd do anything to protect you. What I said wasn't true. I was angry at the moment, and I've never felt guiltier.'' He took a moment of silence at seeing Anti's expressionless reaction. ''And I've made another mistake. I haven't yet told you how sorry I am for what I said.'' A few more moments passed and Dark sighed, looking back into the distance and drawing his eyes across the scene to the dying sunlight. He had forgotten how beautiful it was until now.
Suddenly Anti leaned up against Dark, tilting his head to the side and looking off into the sunset, as well.
''I can protect myself, you know,'' Anti said.
''Yeah,'' said Dark. ''I just can't imagine anybody trying to hurt you. I want to do anything to keep you out of harm's way.'' Anti replied with a sincere smile, and it was then that Dark realized he wasn't mad anymore. He leaned back on the tree branch and joined Anti's gaze across the scenery. Somehow, with Anti here, it seemed more beautiful than ever.


Anti stared across the long, faded landscape of the familiar paradise he used to tread. He ran his hand through his hair, letting out a sigh. He was just realizing how everything here was rotting. How much fresher it looked when he and Dark had found it. Anti missed how beautiful it had once been. Now it felt like everything was dying. He could no longer hear the birds chirping or the familiar sounds of the wilderness. It was all silent. Deathly silent. All he could hear was his own breathing.
Finally Anti caught sight of a moving creature. He raised his head and stared up at a graceful, fragile bird as it made it's way through the clouds, gliding through the empty sky. Something about it seemed familiar to Anti. It suddenly hit him as he recognized the faint pink tips of it's wings.
And it was only when the bird disappeared into the clouds that Anti felt lonelier than he ever had before.

I hope you can check out my page maskman I today am starting to write a story based off of your anti like from past to present I want to do you good so I'd love to let you see this start if a story and chapters and stuff and hear how it is from you. I mean I don't want to annoy you with but yeah if you want to check it out.

Absolutely stunning. Just going to say that straight away, because it really needs to be said.

At the beginning (first two panels), they were close friends. Nothing could tear them apart. Then something horrible happened to their home, and they were divided. Dark wanted to help save their home, and he worked tirelessly to save their crumbling world.

However, he failed because of something he could not control (possibly something to do with Anti?) and he died/was banished/fell out with Anti. Because of this, Anti is alone, remembering the past as he sits where they used to hang out together. His inner light is gone, and grief fills him entirely. He misses his old friend.

Or perhaps he succeeded and became a ruler of the civilization, moving them to a new location, and Anti is nostalgic because Dark no longer has time to be his friend. Either one is a possibility.

After the second picture we begin to see signs of a civilization crumbling into disrepair. The structure that stood so proudly now has vines growing on it, meaning it is no longer being taken care of. I believe it is either a governmental building or a statue. If it is the former, that means the government has fallen, and if it is the latter, the civilization that used to live there has been forced to move to a new location, or has been destroyed altogether. 

We can also see that the tree is slowly dying, perhaps representing the death of their friendship... Or their way of life... Or their world. Really, the possibilities are endless for this analogy. 

The reason I said that Dark wanted to save their home is because of the way he sits in the third panel, as if talking to Anti about what he sees, his visions for the future. His hand gestures toward the structure, which, if it is a governmental building, could mean he is talking about leading their fellows into a golden age. 

The positions of the sun in these different panels could be very symbolic. The first panel is a sunrise, based upon comparison to other sunrises. This could be the beginning of their lives/their friendship. The second panel is the nighttime, which could be the tragedy that destroyed their world. The third panel is a sunset, based upon comparison to other sunsets, and could be the end of their friendship/Dark's life, depending on how you see it. The fourth and final panel is another sunrise, which could be the beginning of Anti's life without Dark, or the beginning of a new civilization that replaced the old one.

Because we know that the sun rises in the east and sets in the west, we also know that they are facing west, which is almost certainly not important but slightly interesting nonetheless.

This is one of my favorite pictures by Maskman626, and it is really intriguing. What happened here? Why is Anti so sad in the last panel? I am so curious! I really cannot wait for some answers. Consider me a fan!
