Specifications for Fluttershy:Stands approximately 12" tall. Materials used include: Tahki Yarns Soft Cotton in butter yellow; Cascade Yarns Pima Tencel in tutu; Tulip and Scribbles fabric paint, buttons.

Haha, yeah that's what it boils down to. Maybe something on how to keep the hair combed, like tips. I've never had any yarn plushies or other things so I've no idea on how to care for them.

Well, the yarn labels always come with care instructions on how to wash it, what setting to put the machine on, whether you can use bleach or not, et cetera.
I've had to carefully spot clean a plushie when I made a mistake with the paint, but I definitely wouldn't recommend putting it in a washing machine or dryer because it wouldn't come out the same. As for manes and tails, I combed them with my fingers and the dull end of a steel crochet hook, then I just kind of misted them with a spray bottle of water and used my fingers to try to curl the tips
This is why I emphasize: The plushies, especially the pony plushies, are not meant to be toys for children.

It always amazes me how accurate you always manage to get the hair (mane? eh) even given the materials.
Like, curly yarn (or whatever the hair/mane [eh] is made of)? I've never even seen or heard of that!

The yarn I use for the mane is just smooth cotton/tencel yarn. I just use a steam iron and a spray bottle of water and then try to curl it up at the ends.

Yes, I figured it out myself. Most of the crocheted pony plushies on dA don't give much thought to styling the mane or tail, sadly.

I spent hours on the mane trying to trim and curl it up just right while looking at several reference pictures. I don't think I succeeded all that well
