Be honest, it was ugly, so I made this new version.

I'd say this is what Sonic should look like for the 25th Anniversary. As in what Sonic would actually look like at age 25 years old.

Nice, I guess the picture you've referenced would be perfect for Sonic's early 20+.
I'd say Classic is aged 5-10, Dreamcast is 10-15 and Modern 15-20.

well i dont think that the characters age that fats on mobius 1 year here is only a month so it would take 12 years to age one for the mobians and that explains why daylight is 24 hours instead of 12 hors

This is actually really interesting. I always love the idea of a semi-realistic and fluffy Sonic. Perhaps it would look better if he had a larger number of spikes, so it doesn't look like another unrealistic cartoony Sonic that happens to be fluffy XD I am also curious as to why his muzzle has no fur on it, nor do the lower parts of his arms o.o Is this a work-in-progress?

I also love realistic redesigns, not only of Sonic but any other cartoon character.
And yes, it's a work-in-progress. I'll add a light layer of fur in the mouth and arms of Sonic and rework some textures, but I don't intend to put more spikes, because it would take forever to render and I would have to sacrifice some resolution
