Some more of this AU (TLDR: the au where Lion Jay and Holly are raised in WindClan as Nightcloud and Crowfeather’s kits)! This time, all the WindClan apprentices together!
- Jaypaw has the B I G G E S T crush on Kestrelpaw and he refuses to acknowledge it and it absolutely kills him. Kestrelpaw is just so goofy and naive and sweet and any time he checks over Jaypaw’s wounds, Jaypaw can feel his soul collapsing in on itself. All of his siblings have found out pretty quickly, and tease him about it nonstop. Kestrelpaw, the poor sweet lad, remains completely oblivious
- Kestrelpaw, Harepaw (a p minor WindClan warrior, and current leader of WindClan in the current series I think?), and Antpaw (a WindClan warrior who trained in the Dark Forest in OotS) are all littermates – their father is Owlwhisker of WindClan, and their mother a rogue who often lingered around Barley and Ravenpaw’s farm. During this time, Nightcloud and Whitetail (Heathertail’s mother) were expecting kits, but the pregnancies weren’t looking too well, so Owlwhisker decided to risk his reputation and bring the kits to WindClan to build their ranks. There was some grumbling about half-rogue Kestrelpaw becoming medicine cat apprentice, but Barkface insists that he’s one of the most efficient medicine cats he’s ever seen
- Heatherpaw feels a certain degree of loneliness, despite being one of several apprentices – she’s the only apprentice without siblings training beside her (she did have other siblings who unfortunately died as kits). As such, she feels some bitterness towards her fellow apprentices — especially Hollypaw, who’s Onestar’s apprentice, thus taking all of Heatherpaw’s father’s time. Over time, though, her relationship with Hollypaw does improve
- To the surprise of some, Jaypaw is one of the most efficient hunters in the Clan; he’s got incredible instincts, it’s easy for him to map out the moors in his head, and his body was built for WindClan territory; with their long legs and short fur against the wind, he and Breezepaw are easily two of the best hunters when they become warriors. He’s also incredibly good at finding herbs (a great excuse to visit Kestrelpaw whenever he wants) – on a related note, though he’s not a medicine cat, it is Jay’s idea to start a garden for their herbs, and he and Kestrel tend to it together it’s their baby
- Unlike their brothers, Hollypaw and Lionpaw have very… un-WindClan like physiques (many WindClan warriors attribute it to Nightcloud’s parents being rogues – at least, that’s my headcanon for her). Lionpaw is a very large and thickfurred cat (he’s mocked for his large amounts of fur sometimes, but when the winter winds come around, everyones trying to cuddle him for warmth), and hunting on the moors can be difficult for his large paws that were made for the forest. However, that doesn’t mean that he can’t hunt at all; besides, patrols love to bring the large muscular warrior to scare off other Clans at the borders
Hollypaw, on the other side, is a munchkin (a headcanon I have for Firestar, Leafpool and Squirrelflight). Chasing rabbits on the moors alone is near impossible for her – however, she’s incredibly smart. All it takes is some teamwork, or maybe even a cleverly planned trap, and she can bring home more prey than any cat. It’s her bright mind that makes many cats believe that she’ll make a talented leader one day
- Though all siblings are incredibly close to an extent, Lionpaw is especially close to Breezepaw and Hollypaw to Jaypaw
