This is a slice through the color cube perpendicular to the black / white axis. Kind of the ultimate true 2D gradient. Neutral gray is at the center and the corners are the midpoints between RY, YG, GC, CB, BM, and MR. The coordinates of each of the colors add up to either 382 or 383. In the square pixel world, this can't be a perfect hexagon, but it can be pretty close: 4 / 7 / 8 proportions stand in for 1 / root3 / 2.
