::[Reminders]::Eyelids covered thick with dust
teardrops etch a curving path.
Raise a hand to wipe the rust
tearfalls loud as siren blasts.
I feel the darkness close in on me
failures echo in my mind
pain assaulting all my senses
stumbling on I try to hide.
Hear the sirens call my name
and feel their icy hands embrace
my teardrops form a frozen guard
and feel my heart begin to race.
Sins from past expressions clawing
long to sink their hooks again.
I smile and I walk right through them
each the substanance of wind.
Forgiveness brings such healing peace
the only tring that can atone.
My sins all left behind and I
remind myself I'm not alone...

A glorious poem. As low as one feels "the sinking" in your wonderful poetry, you always at least, allude to escape, forgiveness and salvation. And it is a very pleasing thing. I am so glad you post here. Excellent work.

I've written many poems about feeling alone. Generally, ofcoarse, they end somewhere along the lines of this.. looking around and seeing that not to be true. Must say, I do feel the same way as you about a lot of things. Your writing says it all.

I can clearly see the images in my mind. We all have made some wrong desions b4 and have lived to regret it.
