I have been working on my texturing techniques with Sixwings this past week and I think I am starting to get the hang of it. Nothing fancy, just a slightly desert scene that has water in it. The moss is probably my favorite part of this. I am thinking for a version 2 of doing the entire front in that moss type look, waddya think? Comments,

The underwater work is very cool, there is only one thing that mabe it a little weird to me, that is the colors you use

that light coming from the hole in the sky is very very wickedly done man!

There are some great textures going on here - that moss is good to go! But I get a little put off at the jumps in contrast between one mass and the next. The land masses almost appear pasted in.

Nice rays and sky work, lovely colours. I like the shoreline texture, but i think it needs the sorta surf plugin, on a low setting tho, coz the water aint to ruff. Nice job

First: I have to say that the sky is absolutely incredible in this one... WOW... speechless.
Those clouds are very realistic - love the silver linings.
Also killer rays you got there.
Next: Those textures are near perfect also... I really like the underwater textures, I don't think they are too bright at all - looks like the light is shining down into the water right there which would really make those underwater plants light up like that - nice job
Finally: The water... great transparency, however, I didn't notice it before but I think the water is a little too rough. But I'd have to disagree with Stotty and say that I think the light reflections on it are just right - those are some bright clouds and the sun glow is really intense up there and the water should be reflecting that I think - nice job
You might think about blending some of your shadows a bit to make them not quite as sharp.
Oh yeah - almost forgot... I really like how the scene sort of drops off on the right side like that - looks mysterious and gives this a fantasy element.

Ooh, nice scene mate - this is very drama ridden, that moss though - it looks like grass, did you post-pro that? - also, the reflection on the water is a little high, seeing as your not reflecting anything other than light, turn it down to help the contrast against the shoreline.
I think perhaps you could turn the exposure down on the whole scene and still get it good.

insane lighting technique, really makes this contrast flush out at it's superb compelling. The textures and composure of this scenery you have created is perfect and greatly rendered, excellent terragen work... keep it up bro

the rays and stuff are good
as aleks mentioned the far right of the scene looks likes it falls into oblivion or sth, but it looks cool with the nice use of haze
the water is done very nicely, and so is the land
only part i'm a bit iffy on is the grass/moss underwater seems a bit too much of a bright green color

The shapes of the terrain is really cool. I like the moss growing on the side o the lagoon underwater. My only suggestion would be to do a little more with the sky in the upper right. It seems pretty dull. Very nice tho

An interesting render here mate ..
I like the sun rays in this, but the sun seems a bit too overpowering .. the clouds are pretty cool, how it opens up, but to the right, it kind of looks like the scene slants down and into nothing .. perhaps you were meaning to do that.
The water looks cool and the transparency is very cool .. especially with that mossy looking texturing under the water .. heh ..
Texture work on the land is pretty good here ..
Overall a nice render mate ..

Very nice scene. And yes the moss looks pretty good also. I do see a lot of straight lines on the waters edge and triangles on the shadows. A little more texture work on the rocks couldn't hurt either. The rays are nice. Just wondering what size you have the terrain set at? You have a wet shore line. Nice. Maybe blend the top of it a bit to fade it into the rocks. And I would rather see a little blue in the water on a scene like this. But that's just my opinion. Over all this is a great scene though. Keep up the good work !

very nice water and good effort on the grass. Its a new techniqu trying to sobmerge the gras underwater andi think you pulled it off nicely. The shorelin on the other edges are kinda sharp though. Love those rays!
