Where to Start? Where to End?
She started out as just a friend.
In my heart it now has grown
with you I'm more than I am alone.
I pray and ask but all I get
is "Wait my child, I'm not done yet".

Her hair itself seems to shine
with a light that's all its own
and gently flutters in the wind
as she walks the long road home.
Skin as smooth as purest silk
yet just as smooth and fine.
And my heartbeat nearly doubles
as I hold her hand in mine.

Lips just as red and full
as cherries in the spring
and from these lips come a song
that sounds like angel's wings.
And in the center of this vast
expanse of beauty fair,
is a sparklign set of saphires
which makes me stop and stare.

If I had every word
from the start of time on since,
I'm afraid that even all those words
would only give a glimpse
of the beauty that I see each time
I look into her eyes.

So with a heavy heart I wait,
and inwardly I cry.
Some say that love is like
reaching for a star.
Always stretching, straining, trying
yet sometimes it is too far.

To liken her to a mere star
would be an insult to her grace.
For even stars are known to fall
and scar this planet's face.
Because to go just right
it takes not two, but three
the third one's name is Jesus
and he died for you and me.

So patiently I watch and wait
and admire froma far
because up between us now has grown
a wall of iron bars.
But bit by bit, and step by step
I try to turn the tide
and when I do I hope
she's waiting on the other side...
