Description

An alternate history map of Tiperyn made by an arts and humanities student at the Realm Aacademy of the Arts at Buxton in 1930. Notably they were failed and likely charged with sedition as depicting the collapse of the Tiperyn state was illegal. For the canon national map before the war: www.deviantart.com/matsudesign…

This map depicts what might have happened if the 1923 Tiperyn arsenal strikes were successful in overthrowing the Tiperyner monarchy. During the Grand Campaigns, the Tiperyn monarchy enacted a variety of emergency wartime measures to increase production as the war turned bloody. This included rolling back labor protections, such as capped working hours and overtime pay. As trade unions pushed back, the Tiperyn government banned trade unions from operating. This triggered a general strike in several cities. In Anterra canon, this strike was effectively suppressed, their Syndicalist-Veizist leadership was arrested, and workers returned to their stations. However, in this alternate history scenario, the strikes were successful in turning the reserve homeland army (which was largely conscripted from the working and peasant classes) to their side.

After a bloody civil war, Tiperyn’s monarchist government and aristocratic society fled north and established a government-in-exile from the Duchy of Haukvirth. Taking advantage of the chaos, some of Tiperyn’s overseas territories declared independence and successfully broke off from Tiperyn at this time. The Haukvirther government controls the remainder.

The Tiperyner syndicalists meanwhile established a confederation of labor councils, administered at local levels but councils of trade unions and coordinated at the national level by a general union acting as a pseudo-political party. To christen the successful revolution, the national capital of Ambrosia was broken up, the Empress’s palace destroyed, and a new planned capital called Lieuvsted (named after Lieuv fan d’Lieuv, the man behind the Veizist ideology) was founded.

Tiperyn’s oppressed Goidel population in the west (which in 1923 were in open revolt and receiving foreign support in the form of troops from Brigantica) also successfully seceded from Tiperyn and formed a union of council republics. In the canon, only the Airgialla archipelago was successfully able to accomplish this.
