"The Assault Ship is a type of warship on a scale comparable to that of a small Carrier, making it the second largest classification of ship currently in service with the Alliance Navy. The 'Vector-Class Assault Ship' is a Terran-built warship, with over 70% of all production carried out locally in the Jupiter Shipyards, in the Sol system. Since the Vector's primary function is to destroy high-priority enemy targets, there are only a token 11 examples of this ship type currently in active service, and may often be seen touring the various home-worlds of each empire in the Alliance. If one would like a closer look at one of these ships, the decommissioned 'Prometheus' can be found in the Alpha Centauri system, and now acts as a museum, documenting the plight of the Terran systems during the last great galactic war."
