I like how each layer of the building is made of a pattern of layers, and then the pattern is repeated. Or maybe I'm just seeing things

haha, no you certainly aren't seeing things. That's before I re-used alot of animation and structure so there most definately are repeating paterns in the buildings!

I liked how this empty world kept getting larger and larger starting with one letter tower than a city of them then looking down from the sky at hundreds of letters flying, only making it more cool when they all poured down to one tower in the middle, genius!

i use cinema 4d and have been for the last 7 years and i dont think i could great something as brilliant as this, i really like the concept and the music goes so well

i'm hopefully going to do a collage course for games design using maya
how hard is it to pick up?

depends, on whether you have used any 3d applications before, if you have you know what to look for in the interface, if not you have to deal with how 3d animation works AND have to learn the interface which might be hard... I'm not the best person to ask as I found it very easy, but then again other people have found it very hard.

well they are OWNED by the same company, they weren't made by th same company, autodesk bought the company ('Alias'
