Description
This is one of the worst movies ever made. You've probably never heard of it before, as it's (explainably) very obscure. This movie fucked up the moral so badly that I fear for the safety of any children in the immediate presence of anyone responsible for this disaster. It's supposed to be saying that child abuse is bad, but it ends up REWARDING the abuser and only one character actually cares about the wellbeing of the children to begin with (and she has no effect on the plot). For example, when the mayor finds out about Mrs. M's child abuse, he only worries about losing his job from an inspection instead of the kids' safety. Oh, and the reason Mrs. M got shocked by lightning was for trying to harm the tree, not from abusing children. You know, because Trees > SENTIENT HUMAN BEINGS.
"The Christmas Tree" has the worst voice acting in anything ever. You'll find better performances in fucking Foodfight or in a school play at a preschool. Most of the kids are voiced by toddlers who probably don't even speak English at all. Good luck understanding what the fuck anyone is saying, and, if you do somehow, you'll be annoyed by their voices. Mrs. M is the only character who actually shows emotion in her acting, but the audio recording is so bad that it doesn't really matter. Your ears will still be aching after finishing this travesty.
Oh, did I mention that Santa appears from nowhere with a little girl who's voice is only slightly less annoying than Lamp's, and that the girl had fallen off a FUCKING CLIFF? Y'know, 'cause Santa.
This movie goes beyond avoiding logical thought or disregarding human emotion. There are MULTIPLE deus ex machinas in this atrocity. One is the lightning that strikes Mrs. M before she cuts down THE MOST HOLY MRS. HOPEWELL. The second is Santa randomly saving the little girl offscreen because that shit would be too hard to explain and animate. GOD this shit is lazy.
Honestly, I truly believe that this movie was made with malicious intent. No one can mar up such a simple moral so badly, but this does it. After abusing children for years and forcing them to wear the same clothing for their whole lives, she finally gets punished by... getting a job at the orphanage she abused children at? The mayor's punishment for his harmful negligence? Pfft, he gets painted off as a good guy by the end of the movie. Judy ends up running the orphanage, so at least the kids won't be abused anymore, but why the FUCK would anyone hire a known child abuser at an orphanage? Why is the child abuser not getting arrested? Why are these characters incapable of showing any emotion or concern towards abused or FUCKING DEAD children whatsoever? WHY DOES THIS EXIST!?
Because I haven't tortured myself enough, the next review is going to be the single worst thing I have ever watched in my entire life: Foodfight. Dear God.
