Description "Ladies, it's really simple," the man began to explain again. "I'm a magician, my assistant called in sick, I don't have a backup, and the show starts in 15 minutes. The only big trick that you would need to do is the Sawing In Half illusion, and I can assure you that you don't need any training for it. For everything else, just stand there on stage and look, well, look like you did a few moments ago, like you are trying to sell yourself. It certainly made me notice you!"

The offer for these ladies was certainly good and a chance to get into showbiz for a night was certainly better than the usual. Of course, the magician was leaving out the fact that the assistant hadn't called in sick tonight, it had happened a week ago, and it wasn't that she was sick so much as something had gone wrong during the Sawing A Woman In Half act. She needed substantial time to recover. These ladies weren't even the magician's first substitute assistants, as he had been going city to city for the past week, finding some ladies in shady places like this to hire, and then, since he hadn't yet learned the secret to the Sawing act, he would normally pack things quickly and skip town immediately after the show.

"Well,... I'll do it. I can be your assistant," one of the ladies told the magician. He took a moment to look her over again, and couldn't help but smile. The woman's greet skirt clung to her in a very nice way, her curves seemed captivating, and her pink highlighted hair told the magician that she was probably pretty wild too. "Are you sure this thing is safe?" the woman asked the magician.

The magician used his calmest, lying voice to reassure her that "Of course, my dear! You can trust me! You will be perfectly safe." Looking at this little woman again, the magician's grin turned devious. "Tell you want, why don't you and I go find some place to have a little fun before the show?"

"I don't like this," one of the other girls turned to the one in green. "This doesn't feel right. I thought you said the show started in 15 minutes, Mr. Magician!"

"Oh, ah, yes. Well, they can start the show without me, I'm the star, you see, and my act is the grand finale!" The slimy magician turned back to the young woman in green. "So, how about it, little lady?"

The woman in green shrugged. "Work is work," she said to her concerned friend as she walked off, following the magician to an unknown fate...
