"You did extremely well with that one, Quinn!" the magician told the lovely volunteer from the audience. "Now, I'd like to attempt a classic act, with you again as my center piece!"
The magician had walked this victim out toward the audience. Quinn could hear the two assistants moving props around, but wasn't sure what they might bring out next. Part of her brain was telling her that whatever it was would probably be dangerous for her!
What she knew for sure was that she felt an overwhelming desire to obey the magician's commands, despite the danger, despite how he might just use her for whatever he wanted!
