Description
"And in there desperation, they will bring judgement upon themselves.Let them.
Let them blight their sol.
Let them face the frigid indifference of the abyss.
Let them fade into the pond of death.
They will chill until there is not flesh to chill.
They will congeal into ice so thick not a millennia could thaw them out.
Let them, then."
The speaker stopped as the projection drew to a close. Ismene sat back in her seat as the choir of The Universal Assembly, ending the archived broadcast with hymns throughout her starship as it smoothly piloted itself around the ring of Umbra Major, in the cold abyss that was it's star system.
The choir came to a somber crescendo as the starship passed in view of the blighted sun. All that could be seen was a pitch black circle, the crowning copula of the civilization it fated.
Ismene flinched towards the dust projector as another archive played by itself, the same speaker walked up to the dais of the assembly, his breath was rasped before he spoke.
"The Assembly would like to officially declare..." There was another struggled breath, "The Hephastesse Commonwealth as fallen." Their banner was dismounted from the hall, and carried in by the few surviving members of the cradle species, in the center of the hall it was slowly turned to dust, and vanished silently into the assembly. "Let it be known to the assembly that there is expected to be an influx of displaced consciences in the coming days, please let it be known in 2 days standard time how many your banner is willing to take." The assembly faded and the archive ended. The anthem choir began playing again, leaving Ismene, tears of mourn in her eyes, alone in the darkened star system.

A quick sketch of a solar system, sacred hymns do wonders to inspire creativity.
