Description Dragon is a character from the short-lived Atlas/Seaboard line of comice in the 1970s. His title only lasted for one issue before the company folded. The story of his origin is... a lot.

It starts in Japan during WW-II as an elderly unnamed Chinese man seeks to leave Japan with his two baby grandsons. As they pass Mt. Fujiyama, an American atomic bomb goes off, destroying the mountain and irradiating them, scarring one of the boys.

The old man finds a small boat and rows to Japan. As soon as they arrive, the three are attacked by a polar bear. The old man fights the bear and learns that the radiation has given him super strength enough to beat it.

Another day's travel brings them to the Shaolin temple where the old man joins the monks, who are old friends of his. They raise  they two boys, Ling and Wu Teh and teach them martial arts. The handsome boy, Wu Teh, grows up to be a superhero and his scarred brother becomes a villain.

We are never told how the people of Japan dealt with the loss of Mount Fuji, or why they were polar bears in China.

Dragon was created by Ed Fedory, Jim Craig, and Larry Leiber.
