I just saw the difference engine in person two days ago! By the end ot the demonstrations and lectures, we were all rabid Babbage fans. I like your rendition, with all its decorations, and having Babbage with headphones adds a brilliant touch. A truly awesome tribute!
The best thing about this engine was that it was designed to run on steam! It's the sort of thing that steampunk dreams to be. Babbage with all his crazy inventions and ideas really was another da Vinci.
