You know, characters who are in denial of their situation, they tend to come off as PROFOUNDLY annoying, and the longer the writers of those stories drag it out, the more annoying it gets.  Which of course makes it satisfying when they come realize how wrong they were, I'll admit, but still, when they never admit they're wrong, I tend to get angry and want to punch that character in the face because I'm tired of their crap.  I could understand a little skepticism if the supernatural and crazy stuff suddenly appeared and wasn't normal, but when they've seen undeniable evidence of its existence and STILL refuse to believe, then that's just stupid.
