I thought they were Contrasting colors helping to balance each other out; while blue and purple are complementary. Oh well I'm not the biggest study on Color Theory. when you're looking at the color wheel, complementary colors arein fact at the opposite side of the wheel, they're not the adjacent ones, but you're right when saying those are contrasting colors ^^.
