Big thanks to ~NikNaks93 who allows me to use his map to recreate a better route map.(Yes, I don't have flights to Orre, so please don't complain that to me!

Here it is: [link] It's a bit different, though. It only shows the similarity of Japan to the regions.

Wait, so the regions in pokemon ranger are based on parts of Japan too? I always thought that they were imaginary.

Officially only Almia has a real world reference in Japan. Fiore and Oblivia don't have a official real world reference but the original author of this map put them there so I was like what the hell, I'm gonna use it anyway even though it's not official.

Long read =
I LOVE the airports but I just ask why are there so many?
The distance between pokemon towns is ALWAYS usually a few days walking. The use of Pokemon leads people to rarely use transport and especially Airports.
Airports would only be used if its a important location or Capital. Like I could only see Saffron City having a huge airport and only Indigo Planteu and Cinnabar would need small ones.
Being able to go outside and catch a bird that can fly you to another town would mean Pokemon airlines would need a different approach in some respect.
Airlines wouldnt be used a lot so they wouldn't get a lot of money.
Pok'emon games have always used BOATS for transporting lots of people and Items. They would have less airports than they would ports.Even Castelia doesn't have a Airport as it has like 20 DOCKS it doesnt need a airport whilst somewhere like Mistralton WOULD.
Sorry if I seem negative but Ive been 'writing' my Pokemon FanFiction for about 12 years now. Ive got a fair idea in my head of what the transport would be like in 'Pok'earth'.
I just think you need Less airports would make it so much better and they need to be in the Important places!
One suggestion, Why couldnt Vermillion (Which is known for being a port) have sea planes? Also Lily cove is a port town that should use Sea planes too.
Also make some planes up

Thanks for this long list of comment and I think I can answer some of that
Few days of walking distance alright, but you have to know Trainers is not the only kind of people present here. Besides, not everyone like or can use a Pokemon to fly around like we expert Trainers do.
Sometimes you have to think outside the box. Castelia, Lilycove are port towns alright, but that doesn't mean they can't have a world-class airport... Lilycove City is the 3rd largest city in Japan, I made an airport just south of the city in the middle of the sea along the coast: [link] And as for Castelia, although it has a lot of piers, but almost none of them are used for trans-pacific ferry services, so of course it needs and airport as well: [link]
The reason Vermillion doesn't have an airport is because I consider Celedon, Vermillion, and Saffron as part of "Saffron Metropolitan Area."
The destinations I made are all important cities in the region. Also Cinnabar Island is a no-fly zone. Saffron needs a large airport, I agree, and here it is: [link] But my focus is not on Saffron, but Goldenrod instead: [link]
About the "less airport the better" theory, here's a fun fact. Here in US there are more then 10000 airports throughout the Continental 48 States. That means it's not always the case for airports only exist in important towns and cities because in United States, airports are everywhere!
Thanks for the comment again!

I see your logic with the non trainers.
Ive just got the scale of the towns in game and in the manga in my head and they just felt to small for Airports that's all.
I guess ive just got very into the idea of the towns being small
The anime always has bigger cities compared the the manga and games. Also Blimps are used VERY casually in the anime and even has told of the airports near cerulean and the one in sinnoh ([link] )
Anyway The level of technology for Pokearth is more advanced than what we have now. It would be cool to see some of your designs for transport taking into account that they have the tech for Anti gravity. This is the reason most flying vehicles are Blimps/ Airships / flying bases
I would like to see you show us some NOT aerodynamic vehicles.
such as [link]
The "megarig" is the level of tech your company should be able to use or atleast for your private use
[link]
Keep up the good work!

The towns and cities are small in the game because if we made it like a real metropolis the system of the game might overload
Blimp? Dude, they have blimp because the game/manga Canalave City is totally different with anime Canalave City which the anime one is a series of island... I'm kinda like to stick with manga-sized city...
Here's something you don't know about my concept: There's no such thing called "Pokeearth" in my dictionary. My settings are all based on our real-world which the technology are almost the same (except the Pokemon part, of course), so Anti-gravity? Get out of town!
Seriously? Megarig? I would rather stick with my Boeing 787...
Thanks!

Ah I get understand now,Sorry I didn't realise you were basing it within a real life scale of Japan. With current technology and such
I thought you were basing it as if you were building the airways in that world. Not building it if the cities were on our map of Japan
Anyways carry on I understand now what your trying to convey!
Yeah the Megarig sucks it was just the first example of some of the crazy air travel they have in the anime

Any particular reason you took Holon off the map? Its cannon and you left the crystal lake on there which is next to it. Holon would have a small airport anyway for all its scientists c:

MaxCheng95 In reply to x-Phones-x [2012-01-25 10:19:59 +0000 UTC]
Basically I have completely no knowledge about Holon and my focus service in Japan is only those 4 main regions and the 2 Ranger regions, that's why I removed Holon from this map.

x-Phones-x In reply to MaxCheng95 [2012-01-27 05:43:09 +0000 UTC]
Holon is basically one big city north of kanto which is in the shape of a with a VERY large river nearby(which you kept from the niknak map)
The City is used by scientists who use the Electric waves of the region to help them find mew.
The waves are also what causes Delta type pokemon to show up in only this region hence a lot of people now live their to work with, catch, or learn about these types of pokemon.
The Trading Card game has always been VERY cannon with the games and manga so it isnt "made up" like the orange islands.
It needs a small airport atleast!

MaxCheng95 In reply to x-Phones-x [2012-01-27 09:52:37 +0000 UTC]
Still, I have nothing to do with Holon because I don't to TCG, so...out of question.

DX i wanna go somewhere tropical..,..dont be mad at me please im only trying to help..

MaxCheng95 In reply to firestarhill1 [2012-01-15 13:08:03 +0000 UTC]
Thanks and I actually have 4 answers for that question of yours:
1) Sinnoh to Unova is not quite piratical now. Although it sounds inconvenient, but in real world, none of the airlines like Japan Airlines and ANA would fly Sapporo to New York, they would rather make you connect your flight in Tokyo instead of a direct flight. Same principal applies here.
2) Orange Islands is an anime-exclusive region. What I did was using the map both the game, anime, and manga has. So of course, no Orange Island.
3) Just who would ever want direct flight from Arizona to some islands in West Pacific?
4) Isn't Sevii Island tropical enough for ya?

firestarhill1 In reply to MaxCheng95 [2012-01-15 23:19:01 +0000 UTC]
1) ok i see where your coming from...its like when i fly from RI to Washington...they make me stop in Dallas for a connection..
2) Yeah, I see wht ur doing here now, never really thought about that i just kinda always added it cuz yeah know ash went there and stuff..
3)...i dont know of anyone LOL ...but yeah never know, ya know?
4) ....eh....not so much....there different...but...not "tropical" there more like...not on mainland...
THANKS for your time explaining everything!

Actually only Almia's real-world location was revealed officially, the original author of the map made that real-world location of Fiore and Oblivia. He also made the real-world location of Unova and Orre in Japan as well... but since the official revealed that both regions are in US, so I removed it.

Yeah, but not as badly as you. I DON'T HAVE TO FLY FROM DALLAS TO NEW MEXICO JUST TO GO TO NEW YORK. I don't want to fly north to Saffron (Fuchsia) just to fly south again to Sevii.

Nice work! It looks a little weird with the flight paths linking up to the zoomed-in areas and not their real locations, and some variation in colours might make it easier to decipher, though.
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
MaxCheng95 In reply to NikNaks93 [2011-12-05 21:33:03 +0000 UTC]
Well, about the zoomed-in area, some airlines in real world really do draw lines directly into the zoomed-in. The zoomed-in is basically the only way to show exactly where would the plane go. Thanks anyway!
