It's that time of year... it's my annual redraw of kits playing in front of the nursery! I love having this silly little redraw as a benchmark to measure my progress. An analysis!background depth. Instead of being a flat 2 dimensional scene, there are layers to the background in the form of the hills. I think this fills up the piece nicer with less empty space. The nursery itself also has depth -- I added a third layer behind the second layer (where the opening is) to make it appear 3 dimensional.
background: stars. I really liked the colors and methods I used to draw 2022's redraw so I kept the navy blue night sky while trying to give it a little more depth with a constellation. The stars flow across the drawing instead of being randomly scattered. The stars themselves are also smaller instead of fat and chunky, such as in previous redraws, which makes it a little more realistic and less jarring on the eyes.
anatomy. The cats are more catty. The segments of their limbs and bodies are more defined.
posing. The cats are in more of an action pose. Previous redraws either had the cats standing around limply or in motion without abiding by the laws of physics (stiff limbs, no action lines). I tried to make the cats look more dynamic.
plants. Slightly more realistic plants. They're thinner instead of being fat and clunky (x2) and hence more realistic.
