Born to unknown parents, Cobalt lived at an orphanage from birth until he was almost 5.
About a month after the episode "Onesies", Brandy and Chilli are talking over the phone, and Chilli suggests that since her younger sister can't produce a child, that she should adopt. After thinking about it, Brandy agreed to do that, thanking Chilli for the suggestion. So, she goes to the orphanage and meets Cobalt, who was just called "Child" while living at said orphanage. When meeting Brandy, Cobalt was super shy, but warmed up to her, and then became her son.
