I have to tell you, this is exactly how I pictured the two of them at the end of my Fan Fiction book: THERE BUT FOR THE GRACE OF JOHN WATSON. They are riding home in a taxi from a crime scene and John is so exhausted, he falls asleep against Sherlock's shoulder. Sherlock doesn't want to wake his doctor - so he tells the cabbie to just keep driving around for a while.
