Description
September 14, 2014 marks the 200th Anniversary of The Star-Spangled Banner, the national anthem of the United States. That anthem was written by Francis Scott Key, as he was held captive aboard a British warship in Baltimore Harbor during the War of 1812.Compared to today's US flag, it is easy to recognize that the Star-Spangled Banner version of the flag has 15 stars (as opposed to today's 50 stars, and the 13-star Colonial flag). What is not easy to recognize (unless you're from Baltimore) is that the Star-Spangled Banner also has 15 stripes, as opposed to the 13 stripes of the current flag and the Colonial flag.
This weekend, my hometown of Baltimore is celebrating the 200th anniversary of the writing of The Star-Spangled Banner. There have been so many wonderful events that I hardly recognize Baltimore as the city where I grew up.

Cool shot. I feel that this photo is dramatic in black and white, rather than if it were in color. I like it
Nice job

Thanks, Steve!
It's interesting (at least to me), they can only fly the 30x42 replica when the wind is forecast to be <15mph. If they fly it on really windy days, one of 2 things will happen: 1) it will rip up the flag, or 2) the flag will yank the pole down. It is a well-anchored pole, but even on a calm day you can tell that the billowing of the flag puts stress on the pole.
