here i wanted to try something experimental and i got mixed results... i mixed conte and chalk with real deep tones to try to get a creamy effect, im not sure if it really works tho,, tell me what you think.... oh and this drawing was 35minsRelated content

When I saw your drawings start popping up in my DevWatch, I was immediately overcome with jealousy, that you had this talent too!
I love the feel of this. The darkness behind the finger seems to be lingering around him, haunting him, and yet it's a quiet enough effect that it doesn't beat us over the head with that.
Your mixture of media has produced a great composite effect here - three different prominent textures, so that we are forced to regard them each separately, rather than unify the image and render a single one of them less relevant... (Your signature provides an unusual benefit in highlighting the textural contrast - a rare case where the evidence of the signature is actually a pretty cool asset...)
Mostly, I'm just so impressed at your fundamentals that you could do an experiment like this. (I can't draw to save my life!) The pose does NOT tell me a specific emotional story, but it DOES make me want to learn more. His looking over his shoulder, with a position that's both relaxed but somewhat defensive, invites us to wonder what his concerns are. He looks at rest but not BORED, and so we are therefore not bored either, but rather quietly intrigued...

very interesting work! I love it's smokey feeling. I think it would have been better tho, if you scanned it in a larger size. Excellent job tho!
