As we all know, Mega Man 2/Rockman 2: Dr. Wily no Nazo has a password feature where you can see the password after completing a stage so that you can write it down in case you want to play the game again later. But what if it used battery-backed saves? If it did have those, here's how I think the save system would have worked:

You can have up to three save files. The save files can be created, deleted, or copied.
The game shows you which stages you have completed on the right. Gray letters mean the stage hasn't been completed yet, and white letters mean you have completed the stage.
The number of lives and Energy Tanks are saved upon clearing a stage.
