Getting a head start on the Doodlewash February 2020 challenge. So posting 01/31 (for 02/01/2020's entry). The word for February 1st is "Hummingbird".
So I found a Calothorax lucifer hummingbird.
X_X I was lazy with it, but its more work than I've put into something like this for awhile.

Can't improve unless I force myself to try things outside my comfort zone. Including the reference, partial finish and full finish.

The reference image was from a Japanese user via Pinterest. >_< Sadly I couldn't get the page to load to properly credit.
Used :
Canson Mixed Media pad.
Pilot Extra Fine Kakuno fountain pen w/ converter to use my own ink( probably my new favorite sketch pen).
Noodler's waterproof ink.
Faber Castell student watercolor set.
Arteza colored pencils.
Uniball Signo Broad White gel pen.
