As things turned out, the organization had a third stroke of luck, in one sense, although not without further complications. The morning after Mr. Hirsch was taken to the upper levels, the unknown man he had met a few days earlier, showed up in the hotel lobby. Seeing that Mr. Hirsch wasn't there, he sat and waited for a while until he considered too much time had passed from the appointed hour of their meeting. He tried to phone him but got no reply. He approached a receptionist and asked if they could please call Mr. Hirsch, room 312, as he was late for an appointment. The receptionist, having been briefed on the case, pretended to check the computer for verification before calling, while activating a "code red" signal to Control to get their attention.

"Oh, I'm sorry sir, it seems Mr. Hirsch is no longer in. He checked out last night."

"Really? That's strange. We had agreed to this meeting today and I have no message from him saying otherwise."

"Would like me to check he left anything for you mister..."

"No. no. Thank you very much. I'll try and contact him. Something unexpected must have happened and he forgot about the meeting. Good morning."

His smile was somewhat forced as he turned and left. Something was clearly wrong. All exits were under surveillance and none of his men had reported anything. As he stepped out into the street, he decided to check up on them personally, one by one. He didn't notice that at least three Golden Dragon agents were tailing him.

The organization had prepared for this contingency, in fact they were hoping for it, and agents had been on standby. The receptionist's signal had them check the cameras and put the plan immediately into motion. They also finally got a good look at the man since the previous images in the lobby weren't clear enough. Some of the more veteran agents had seen him before, Madam Chen included. In theory, he was supposed to be dead. Things had just gotten more complicated...
