I drew this piece in honor of the 17th anniversary of SpongeBob’s most greatest epic adventure which involving SpongeBob proving his childlike innocence to be more than just a kid by going to Shell City(along with Patrick) to retrieve the mighty sea ruler,King Neptune’s crown and save Mr.Krabs from his fiery doom after Plankton’s Plan Z led to Neptune falsely accused Krabs for his crown being stolen and taken to Shell City and was frozen in a block of ice until his crown returns,by facing a gang of thugs,a hitman named Dennis hired by Plankton to go after them,going past the trench,escaping the Cyclops,riding David Hasselhoff,and finally,faced Plankton’s mind-controlled minions in a musical showdown. Along the way,he learned in a traumatic way that how bad things had gotten and aren’t as perfect as he seems, since Krabs believes SpongeBob isn’t worthy enough to be a manager due to being a kid,Plankton took over the entire town after stealing Plan Z and started mind-controlling everyone into slaves,he and Patrick almost give up after accepting the fact they are just kids when they stop at the trench,and SpongeBob made a speech on how others doubted him on his Shell City journey when he faced several obstacles and accepts always being a kid.

Here is a pic of SpongeBob dressed in his “Goofy Goober Rock” peanut wizard attire during the musical number while performing a guitar solo that blasts everyone free from Plankton’s mind-control helmets.

Happy Late 17th Anniversary to the OG SpongeBob Movie that is meant to be the conclusion to the series despite SpongeBob being a timeless beloved cartoon character,but luckily,the OG movie boosted SpongeBob’s popularity into skyrocket and Nick began to order more episodes of SpongeBob afterwards,as well as leading to two more follow-up films in 2015 and 2021(Sponge Out of Water,Sponge On The Run)
