The NX-01's secondary hull looks more like the Excelsior or the Enterprise-D, really, than the NCC-1701.

I like the idea of the NX-01 being pulled out of mothballs for a "Passing of the torch" type of mission, Too bad Archer Died the Day after the 1701's commissioning, Maybe Trip is Commanding the NX-01.
