Here's an example of Fire Hydrant colors based on National Fire Protection Association Standards. The body color represents that hydrant is public. The cap colors represent the Gallons per minute the hydrant can produce.
Blue - 1500 or more Gallons Per Minute
Green - 1000 to 1499 Gallons Per Minute
Orange - 500 to 999 Gallons Per Minute
Red - Below 500 Gallons Per Minute
