Description
When I did my previous Virounga piece, I realized that the male's coloration greatly resembled how I view the red-snouted Utahraptors from the novel Raptor Red.

Therefore, I was inspired to do some fanart for said novel.

I painted this without any reference, so their anatomy isn't fully aligned with what we now know Utahraptors looked like (apparently they had procumbent teeth, as we as relatively stockier legs than what I gave them). A more up-to-date reconstruction of Utahraptor ostrommayi (by a better paleoartist than myself) can be viewed here
