This is everything I love in a fractal; colour, form, pattern and a sense that it has captured some elegant part of the magnificent vista that is the mathematical universe.

I like that! It's what I try to do too! Thing that's so lovely about UF is the amazing graduations in colour tones, which really inspire me when they're right.

I agree, once I've settled on the elements of the image then comes the coloring.
Fooling with the layers to achieve a color palette that makes me happy is a lot of fun.
