I'm one of those people who read the fanfic, "This Bites", and I saw that they saved Merry from her death.
Yesterday, I had an idea on another friend they could save using a Devil Fruit, the dragon drawing Ryunosuke. Using axolotl Devil Fruit from Punk Hazard (assuming they could get it of course) they could make him eat it as soon as he's about to disappear.
Of course this might not work, but there's a first time for eveything, right?
If it does work, not onyl will he join the Straw Hats, but might also be really close to Robin.
